Environment, safety and formation committee
Mining activities by their nature causes environmental inconveniences.
The pressures exercised by the competent authorities regarding the environment are oftenly the result of challenging and sensitive subjects.
It is very clear that there are some discrepancies between the Forest Code and the Mining Code. There is a real problem of harmonization of the texts between the Forest Code and the Mining Code. The MCOS mission is to find solutions regarding these two fields so that the incompatibilities between them are reduced. The commitee’s mission is also to train the workers in the mining field for new equipment and provide safety training.
In light of these issues the MCOS considered necessary to create a water and forests committee that can study and evaluate some key issues such as taxes payable and also to launch an impact studies of these discrepancies.
The commitee will also be in charge of increasing safety and training for the employees in order to increase efficiency on the field.
